Without people there is no Conservation. It’s as simple as that. Conservancies are made up of groups of people who believe that protection and management of the environment is not a luxury, it is a necessity.
People in Conservation come from all walks of life: residential, business, industrial, farming, nature, wildlife, societal, club, educational, social services, community and other organisations.
All of these people have in common the goal of improving our way of life through the sustainable management of our environment. And at the same time, the experience of making an essential contribution to our lives, our country and our planet.
Yes. Every little counts, no matter how small. Every single person working in Conservation is part of a global fraternity that sustains and improves the environment in countless ways.
It is not difficult to join a Conservancy or even start one. Here in KwaZulu-Natal we are fortunate to have more Conservancies than any other province – and the number is growing.
